A Clean Environment = A Clear Headspace: 5 Pointers

I always thought I did fine in a messy house. ‘It is a product of my ‘creative mind’. I could not be fooling myself more. It is the product of my unfocused scattered mind.

Now a days I make a game out of staying on top of any household stuff. I prefer the feeling of being proactive over having the dishes pilled up, the room(s) messy and the laundry waiting. I am still getting better at it. It’s like a muscle that I am training.

It isn’t a rule. It’s an intention. At times, especially when I am painting, I even prefer a choatic and messy environment. But overal a cleaned up environment feels inviting, caring, nurturing and Self loving.

What that said, I still train my mind to be focused, even in loud and messy environments, so I am not depended on any circumstance.

Being aware of the environment greatly contributes to keep a clear headspace.

I keep in mind these 5 pointers.

  • Cleaning and organising is a practice, not a project.

  • Cleaning up my environment supports a clear mind and visa versa. It’s a loop.

  • Loved and cared for spaces, invites (unexpected) guests to be more present.

  • 2 min clearing out 1 drawer is better than fantasizing about cleaning the whole kitchen.

  • Organising things earns time.

I believe that all intentions and actions matter on the physical plane, the mental plane and the spiritual plane. Cleaning and organising is like opening doors and windows to allow a breeze of freshness, inspiration, clarity and love in.
