All Powerful Transformations Start With Admitting Defeat. Here's Why;
It sounds paradoxical but hear me out.
Transformation is actually about letting go of our limiting beliefs. But as you know, the inner critic is a bitch.
It tries to keeps us bound to our current experience, by reinforcing the beliefs as soon as we are ready to let go. It feels like an enemy working against us.
Sounds familiar right?
Forfeit to win
Instead of trying to overcome the inner critic, or prove it wrong, or anxiously look the other way, do this:
Give up and say: “Dude! You are so right. I am fucked, I suck, I am not good enough and I am a failure. So what?”
Take a moment to feel how liberating it feels when you stop resisting.
Meet it and talk with it. What does it truly want? What is it afraid of? Hear it out, give it a loving hug and a chair, to chill.
We suffer most from fighting ourselves
Nothing in this world is inherently against us. It is us, being against us. Give up the fight. No more trying, pushing, hiding, tricking or running. We are better off investigating the thoughts and negative beliefs we feel bombarded with.
The reason that we fight is because on some level we are afraid that the beliefs are true. That we indeed suck and are undeserving of everything we desire. We break the spell, by fully exploring its ‘reality’. Facing by feeling what we most fear to be true.
From enemy to ally
In essence it’s a fight with the part of us that we’ve alienated. It is trying to protect us from being hurt (again). It sits on our heart's gems that are meant to be shared with the world.
‘It’ is not some sort of separate entity, it is a part of us that is desperately asking to be loved and included. When we do, our heart is freed from the protection that limits us.
The inner critic can function as a powerful navigator/advisor working with us, sharing its wisdom from the chair we give it.
